OFCC v Prague Cricket Club 2nd XI 23/8/2014
OFCC 162 (29 overs;. A. Javed 32, M. Glew 28, Abhi 2-11)
PCC2 163-5 (29 overs; Aidtya 25, Mayhar 42, Hygry 3-31)
The OFCC played a hard-fought match against a strong Prague Cricket Club 2nd XI. Opening batsman for OFCC Imran al Haq had to call for a runner after the first ball of the innings after breaking down with a calf injury but OFCC recovered to post a competitive score thanks to some mighty stroke play from Javed with 32 and then Martin Glew supported by Russ Sumpter who scored 28 and 20, respectively. In the end having only 10 men and Imran's injury meant we were possibly 10 runs short and a bowler light.
OFCC v Czechos 9/8/2014
Czech XI 246-6 (30 overs; M. Stary 101 retired, L .Fencl 58, Surenta 1-22)
OFCC 149 (27 overs; S Page 25, T Choudhury 21, Sasa 3-26)
The rematch between OFCC and the Czech XI ended in a heavy defeat for the old boys as a team depleated by injury and absence lost by 97 runs. Thanks to the Indian Embassy, who helped keep the fixture alive by supplying four players and the Czechs bowling a record 54 wides we managed to reach a score of 149 but it was no way enough to catch the mammoth first innings total of 246.
The season opener for the 2014 Czech cricket summer season saw OFCC playing against a strong Czech team dotted with senior players from the Czech National Team. After losing the toss and being put in the field the OFCC opening bowlers Peter Vincent and Sameer Kumar managed to keep the pressure on the batting team taking early wickets. After a spectacular run out from Scott Page picking up and throwing the wicket down from just inside the boundary rope things were looking good for OFCC but a quick fire 44 from Czech National Team captain Vojtech Hasa and a determined half century by Lukas Fencl saw the Czechs post 162-7 after their alloted 30 overs. A steady start from the OFCC openers Imran al Haq and Samear Kumar set a basis for Scott Page to push OFCC closer to the required target only for us to run out of overs 23 runs short.

OFCC triumphed over a Czech XI at the weekend. The game was reduced to 8-a-side due to absence and illness, however the enthusiasm was clear for all to see and we hope to repeat the fixture in coming seasons.
OFCC captain Craig Hampson had flu so handed over the captaincy to another ex-Czech National Team captain Scott Page, who provided the following match report:
"OFCC batted first and Alex and Imran shared a 57-run partnership, Alex finally falling late to captain Hasa's direct-hit. Steve Reade hit some late runs to take the total up to 118. Vojta led the charge with a 29-run opening partnership with Karel, but cut to Scott at point for the first wicket. Alex backed up his good batting with excellent bowling and Mik was cleverly stumped to leave the Czechs reeling on 52-3.
Tight bowling and quick singles followed, and Steve took an excellent high catch to remove Lukas. The Czechs were left needing 31 off the last 30 balls and eventually 15 off the last over, which Jan faced in Last Man Standing mode. The first ball was crashed away for four but the second hit the top of off stump to seal the victory. A fun game and played in the right spirit at all times."
